Mary Ellen Guest, Executive Director of CBA, to be Honored at Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation 2nd Benefit Dinner
|
|
We are proud and excited to share that our Executive Director, Mary Ellen Guest, will be honored with a Housing & Senior Services Award at the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC) 2nd Annual Benefit Dinner on October 30th. For its second year, the GAGDC Benefit Dinner will celebrate and honor community partners and organizations that have supported GAGDC as they continue to impact neighborhoods and families throughout the Chicagoland area.
"Because of Mary Ellen's expertise and her selfless support of seniors, GAGDC takes pride in this mark of distinction as the awardee of the Housing and Senior Services award," GAGDC said in a statement.
For many years, Mary Ellen Guest has been a vital part of the Auburn Gresham community working with senior residents. Since 2010, Mary Ellen has worked tirelessly with GAGDC collaborating in presentations, workshops, festivals and assisting with the National Register designation of the Auburn Gresham Bungalow Historic District. Most recently, she has managed the Energy Savers program, assisting in completing over 500 Energy Savers retrofits since July 2016, translating to $3.9 million invested in the Auburn Gresham community, and counting.
“I am so very honored to be receiving this Award from the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC)," said Mary Ellen. "It means the world to me to be recognized for doing work that I love, alongside people I love—the GAGDC staff and the seniors of Auburn Gresham.”
GAGDC's mission is to foster and promote revitalization of the community by designing and implementing programs that improve the community’s economic viability; increase availability of quality housing to people of different income levels, while maintaining and improving existing affordable housing; and enhance delivery of social services, particularly to senior citizens.
Proceeds from the Benefit Dinner will support the GAGDC programs, services, and initiatives to continue building and supporting the Greater Auburn Gresham community.

Homeownership remains a great source of wealth and opportunity for American families, and passing that wealth on to the next generation is important. Unfortunately, too many neglect to discuss and plan with their families about how this will happen. Robin Staggers, Special Executive Assistant to Cook County Recorder of Deeds, will explain how to transfer your home (as well as your car and bank account) without having a will or trust—with no probate, no legal fees, and no court costs.
