Last evening, we had the pleasure of gathering with members and friends at a beautiful Garden Party Business After Hours hosted by Mutual Benefit Group (MBG).

MBG CEO, Gary Williams, shared a brief but inspiring speech, highlighting the company’s remarkable 117-year history and the wide range of services they provide. He also emphasized the importance of community, collaboration, and the strong relationships MBG has built right here in Huntingdon County.

Guests enjoyed a fun MBG-themed quiz for the chance to win exciting door prizes, and everyone left with a thoughtful gift from our generous host.

We extend our sincere thanks to MBG for hosting such a memorable evening and for their ongoing commitment to supporting businesses and our community.

Yesterday, Chamber staff had the opportunity to attend the PA CareerLink Huntingdon County Annual Fall Job Fair at the Smithfield Fire Hall. This event brought together local employers, job seekers, and community partners for a day focused on workforce connections.

We enjoyed speaking directly with employers to better understand their current needs and challenges, while also taking time to thank our Chamber members for their continued support of our mission. Events like this highlight the importance of collaboration in building a strong workforce and ensuring that Huntingdon County remains a great place to live, work, and do business.

We also enjoyed meeting Jojo and Lilly from Froggie 98.1!

Did you know........

Small businesses represent the largest segment by number of most local chamber membership rolls. Results in the research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street indicate the impact of local chamber membership on small businesses is very powerful. If a consumer knows a small business is a member of its local chamber, the business enjoys a 44 percent increase in its consumer favorability rating, a 51 percent increase in consumer awareness, a 57 percent increase in its local reputation and a 63 percent increase in the likelihood that consumers will patronize the business in the future.

Research indicates that chamber membership stimulates business-to-business commerce in the local community. Other businesses in town are more likely to do business with you and your company if you are a member of the local chamber. Because a major part of a small business typically comes from business-to-business services, it is essential to maintain a positive standing within the local business community.
