wine time

Space is limited, and tickets are going quickly for the Fleet's annual fundraiser, The Magic of Wine! This year's event will be on Saturday, May 11, and will feature exquisite wines and food pairings curated by renowned chef Andrew Spurgeon and The WineSellar & Brasserie owner, Gary Parker.  All proceeds raised from this event will directly support the Fleet Science Center in achieving its mission of realizing a San Diego where everyone is connected to the power of science.

best friends to the rescue

Now playing daily in the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater, Superpower Dogs tells the "tail" of some reBARKable dogs and their amazing abilities to save the lives of humans when they've had a "ruff" day. (Okay, no more dog puns...we promise!) Also screening daily are Great Barrier Reef and Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation. Since the Fleet is open late the week of April 15, you can catch shows on the Giant Dome Screen on the hour from noon to 6 p.m.

It's a Bird! It's a Plane! No, It's an Asteroid!

We know that when you hear "asteroid," you probably think of some Hollywood doomsday film, but asteroids can actually tell us a lot about our solar system. Join us at the Fleet's monthly planetarium show, The Sky Tonight, to learn about their origins, compositions and the space missions that study them. Following the show, take a peek into space with the San Diego Astronomy Association and their high-powered telescopes!

Calling all campers

Summer is right around the corner! Summer Camps at the Fleet have something for everyone ages Pre-K through 8th grade. Full-day camps are available from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and half-day camps are also available through the Balboa Park Collaborative. So you can drop your campers off at one museum and pick them up at another and hear about all their summer learning fun! School may be out, but fun is in!
