-
A town hall was held at the Citadel Mall last week, hosted by KOAA, and attended by Mayor Mobolade, CSPD Chief Vazquez, and others. Folks at this event are hoping to address violent crime as an overall community. We attended and captured a video for you.
-
A big focus of this violent crime town hall was money. Your money, and who it could go to as a result of the violent crime we’ve been seeing. Read our latest original article for all the details.
-
Speaking of Springs Taxpayers United original articles, we have a call to action for you regarding building height in Colorado Springs. Would you like to see height restrictions? Check out our other original article this week to see how you can help.
-
We’ve been reporting for a while now on the effort by radical leftists in the Colorado legislature to exempt themselves from open meeting laws, thus allowing them to avoid public transparency on communications. Well, they were so excited by this, that the bill was rushed through the legislative process and immediately signed into law by Governor Polis. What will they exempt themselves from next? We do not have representative government in Colorado, folks.
-
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has proudly opened a “micro-community” in the city that will be able to house 60 street people. Oh, we forgot to mention, he dumped this community in the middle of an existing community that really didn’t want it. For more details on why, refer to our original article on HUD Fair Housing Rules. Additionally, per policy, it’s okay if residents of this “micro-community” are whacked out of their minds on drugs. This will pair nicely with the taxpayer-funded drug dens the legislature wants for us. Yes, our politicians truly are this awful.
-
Speaking of our awful politicians, some of them have been tasked with finding a solution to property taxes. How is it that they had a special session in 2023 to solve the property tax issue they created, and they still need to find a solution to property taxes? Because they aren’t really looking for a solution. They are acting in bad faith, and looking for ways to scam you.
-
These same horrible, tyrannical politicians are pushing a bill discouraging people like you from appealing land use decisions. This would make communities powerless against developers, and the legislature wants this. But, since denying your constitutional right to petition your government for a grievance isn’t tyrannical enough, a provision in the bill states that if you appeal a development in your neighborhood due to safety concerns, the state will hold you responsible for attorney fees. Yes, they are truly this awful.
-
Having solved all the other problems, the Denver City Council is planning to ban sugary drinks for children. Because it’s for the children.
-
The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments would like your feedback on, “active transportation”, which is their special new term for forcing you out of your automobile and onto something they prefer.
-
U.S. Representative Buck, from Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, is suddenly vacating his seat. This will trigger a special election.
-
The City of Colorado Springs is considering bringing ambulance services in-house, and no longer contracting with a private provider. A closed-door meeting will be held to discuss this.
-
A Colorado Springs City Council State of the Community meeting was held on March 13th, featuring Councilmembers Dave Leinweber and Brian Risley. We attended, and our video of this meeting can be seen here. Initially, there is significant crowd noise, but that subsides after 2 minutes.

If you would like to help support us in our mission as government watchdogs by becoming a Newsletter Sponsor, we are offering two sponsorships for each weekly newsletter, at the nominal cost of $100 each. Funds raised from these sponsorship opportunities will help us to keep looking out for taxpayers.
Here are some upcoming meetings in the area. We hope you can attend one or more! If there are other public meetings you’d like to see announced here, please drop us a line. We are happy to include them in an upcoming newsletter. These might be government-related, candidate, or elected official meetings. Thanks!
