Ryan & Kim Sundberg will accept the Azalea award at the Member's Choice Awards dinner & auction!

This award was established in 2001 to recognize individuals who have a history of service to our community and continue sharing their knowledge and expertise today. The recipient of this award is chosen by previous recipients and will serve as our Grand Marshal's for the 51st Annual Pony Express Parade. We are pleased to have Ryan & Kim Sundberg recognized as the 2019 Azalea Award recipients. Ryan & Kim have been highly involved in McKinleyville for many years.

Mark your calendar for Friday, March 22 and plan to join us to recognize all of the nominees and to congratulate the winner in each of the six categories. The votes are very close and voting closes this Friday! If your business has not cast your vote yet, please do so by 5pm on February 8! Your vote can make a different in who receives the award. Invitations are in the mail. Blue Lake Casino is offering a discounted room rate of $85 per night for those who would like to make it a mini-staycation! We will have more information out soon.

Belonging Has Never Felt Better with exciting new things coming to the Coast Central Credit Union family in 2019! With the recent government shutdown, Coast Central is dedicated to offering competitive financial services to existing members affected with a promotional 0% interest rate loan until the government shutdown is resolved. An extension to the program may take place if the shutdown continues past 60 days.

Coming on Friday, May 10 the McKinleyville Shred Day will be available to the community, allowing up to three banker boxes of confidential records to be disposed of completely free. What a fantastic way to start 2019!

The spring application for the Dean G. Christensen Community Investment Program is now open; our volunteer Board of Directors has again approved a total of $200,000 in grants for 2019, $100,000 in each of two rounds. Spring applications are due no later than Thursday, February 28th to Humboldt Area Foundation.

Local students are encouraged to apply for our 2019 scholarships; up to 13 will be awarded to high school seniors graduating this year in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity County. Scholarship applications are available online at coastccu.org under community.

Lastly, have some very exciting news for our members; we are currently preparing a conversion to a new core computer system in November. What does this mean for our members? Access to opening new accounts online, and most importantly, improved technology which means faster service for you!
Our friendly McKinleyville team of 19 is ready to serve you, so come by your local financial cooperative today and become a part of the growing Coast Central Credit Union family, open 7 days a week at 1968 Central Avenue!
