In its influential and closely-watched annual ranking, the World Bank named Azerbaijan as one of the year’s most improved economies for its various reforms to improve ease-of-doing-business. The World Bank cited reforms in protecting minority investors, getting credit, resolving insolvency, paying taxes and trade.

The visit of the US President’s National Security Adviser John Bolton to Azerbaijan opens new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said in an interview with the widely syndicated John Batchelor radio show.

The data obtained from Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi Observatory are used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to study the sun, Natchimuthuk "Nat" Gopalswamy, a staff scientist at NASA said, adding, “Space unites us, and I believe that the initiative of Azerbaijan will be particularly useful.”
