Azusa Light & Water (ALW) joins more than 2,000 publicly owned utilities from around the nation in celebrating Public Power Week on October 7-13 to appreciate the virtues of public ownership of their electric utilities, which serve approximately 47 million Americans.
Public Power Week is a weeklong recognition of the significant benefits that public power offers to Azusa citizens and businesses including safe and reliable electric service at significantly lower electric rates as compared to investor-owned utilities,
enhanced customer service and responsiveness.
ALW is locally owned and locally governed by a Utility Board who continues to lead Azusa in making the City a better place to live and work.
Public Power Week provides an opportunity to recognize the efforts of many ALW employees and power line workers. Everyone at ALW works diligently in the background to make sure the lights always come on when customers flip the switch, and provide fast response when problems do arise. These concerted efforts have earned ALW the RP3 (Reliable Public Power Provider) designation which recognizes the Utility as one of the most reliable electric providers in the industry.
To thank you for being our valued customer, ALW is hosting these giveaway events!
