Magic Awaits...

Faerie Tale : A Royal Wedding

Snow White, Cinderella and their Princes are traveling through the woods on a magical night. They find themselves amid a fairy preparation for the wedding of Oberon and Titania, King and Queen of the fairies. An errant donkey carrying gifts for the couple wanders into the woods to rest.

Between these unlikely groups flies Puck, armed only with a wicked sense of humor and a love potion capable of making anyone fall for the first person they set eyes upon.

What could possibly go wrong?

Faerie Tale is Springfield Ballet Company's new ballet set to the music of Felix Mendelssohn and Pytor Tchaikovsky.

Thank you to local artist Dominic Cellini for the design of our artwork.
Fund The Floor

The foundation of a healthy dancer, and a beautiful ballet, starts from the ground up.

The impact of the SBC dancers' feet turning, jumping and leaping across the dance floor causes wear and tear not just on the dancer's bodies, but can increase their risk of serious injury and wears down the flooring every week.

Dance floors are made of a special material that helps absorb the shock of their movement and facilitates the turns and leaps of all types of dance. Other flooring, such as hardwood, linoleum, tile, concrete, etc., would be very damaging to a dancer's body!

SBC Floor Facts:
* 750-1,000 Hours PER dancer per year spent on a dance floor
*18,750+ Hours TOTAL for the 25 Company Dancers alone
* 618,000+ Hours over 33 Years (the combined age of the traveling floor and the floor in Theatre II at HCFTA)
* $18,000: The budget needed to replace and upgrade the traveling floor and the studio floor

Investing in new dance flooring will provide a safer environment for the dancers who work so hard every week to improve their technique and master choreography. We want to provide the best environment to keep the dancers healthy and injury-free. It may not be glamorous, but flooring is truly the foundation for the success and the beauty of the SBC.

If you would like to donate to our "Fund The Floor" campaign, please visit our website HERE to make a donation via PayPal, or contact Sally Hamilton at 217-544-1967.

We thank you for your support and dedication to the art of dance in our community.
