National Night Out - Picnic in the Park
Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Broomfield County Commons. There will be interactive learning stations, all-hazard preparedness education centers, a demonstration by North Metro Fire Rescue showing extrication from a crashed car, a police K-9 demonstration, and an interactive SWAT display.   Read more...

Department of Motor Vehicle Office Closure
Broomfield's Motor Vehicle office will be closed Aug. 1-5, 2018. The Colorado Department of Revenue is replacing the statewide computer system that has been used since 1983. During the implementation of the new system, Broomfield's Motor Vehicle office will not be able to do transactions. Here are other options:
One Book, One Broomfield
This city-wide reading and discussion program encourages citizens to read the same book at the same time to create a shared sense of community through literature. This year's selection is "Lucky Boy" by Shanthi Sekaran; a gripping tale of two mothers and two very different pictures of immigration. Get your free tickets to the upcoming author talk on November 3.

Rec Center Maintenance Closure
The Paul Derda Recreation Center will be closed Aug. 20-26, 2018, for annual maintenance. The pool will be closed Aug. 13-26. 

Broomfield Community Center Reconstruction
Broomfield is getting a NEW Community Center! Construction is scheduled to start September 2018. Broomfield Community Center will be closed from  August 27, 2018  through 2020.  The Senior Center side will be closed from  August 27 - September 16  and will tentatively reopen the week of  September 17 .   Please Note: Senior Services will remain open during construction of the Community Center.

Fall Program Guide
Browse through the Fall Program Guide  to sign up for upcoming fall programs and events. There are events and classes for all ages. You can also pick up a hard copy at the Paul Derda Recreation Center, Broomfield Community Center, Broomfield Library, or the George Di Ciero City and County Building. Visit  B-REx.com to register.

County Commons Cemetery Ribbon Cutting
The County Commons Cemetery expansion project has been completed and there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 10 from 9 to 10 a.m., 12801 Sheridan Blvd.
Broomfield Days 
Begins on Friday, September 14, 2018 with a Golf tournament and Bingo games. Saturday, September 15, is the main event with activities and entertainment throughout the day including a 5K  race, clown contest, parade, trade fair, craft festival, food booths, three stages of entertainment, and great community spirit. Dog Daze at The Bay  
Saturday, September 8, 2018. It's a day gone to the dogs! Bring your dog down to The Bay for a day of excitement just for dogs.  Register to guarantee your spot.

Paper Shredding Program
