The COGCC Approves 4 Well Applications for the Interchange B Pad
On March 15, 2019, Broomfield was notified that the COGCC approved four Form 2 applications for the following wells on the Interchange B Pad:  
  • Form 2 #401475431 - Well N35-20-10N
  • Form 2 #401475419 - Well N35-20-3N
  • Form 2 #401475418 - Well N35-20-2C
  • Form 2 #401475347 - Well N35-20-1N
The chart below shows how many Form 2s have been approved, how many are pending approval, and how many have not been posted for comment on the COGCC website.

Interchange B Drilling to Start
Please view the updated public notice for the Interchange B pad here .  Please note that drilling equipment is being moved on the Interchange B Pad on March 19th and/or 20th.  Drilling of the first 10 wells on Interchange B Pad is scheduled to start on Thursday, 3/21.

DNV-GL Responses from February 19, 2019 Council Meeting
Council held a study session on February 19, 2019 to discuss the DNV-GL Risk Assessment of Extraction's oil and gas development  in Broomfield.  At that  meeting Council requested that DNV-GL address numerous questions in writing.  The questions and written responses from DNV-GL can be viewed  here.
A Community Meeting to discuss the DNV-GL Risk Assessment further will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 from 5 to 6:30 pm.  The panel for the Community Meeting will include Robin Pitblado, Cynthia Spitzenberger and Marisa Pierce from DNV-GL, and Barbara Ganong, a petroleum engineer, who worked on Broomfield's behalf in the development of the risk assessment.

COGCC Notice of Spud Received
On March 20, 2019, Broomfield received a 'Notice of Spud' from the COGCC for 10 wells on the Interchange B Pad.  Spud is a term used for the start of drilling.  The well numbers and planned spud date included in the chart below.
These dates are the soonest drilling will begin for each well, and Friday, March 22nd, at noon is the soonest that drilling of the first well can start.

Drilling Rig to Move onto Interchange B Pad the Evening of March 21
It is likely that the drilling rig will move onto the Interchange B Pad the evening of March 21.  Extraction has been authorized by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) to begin drilling the first well on the Interchange B Pad as soon as March 22. 

3/22/19 Interchange B Pad Drilling Update
Drilling will not begin on the Interchange B Pad until Monday, 3/25.  The drilling rig is being assembled on site. Broomfield's inspectors will be conducting another site walk through on Friday, 3/22, once the drill rig is set up, but not yet ready to drill.
