Situated in the heart of the Middle East, Bahrain has been, and will continue to be a very important ally as well as an important aerospace and defense market for the United States!

A collaboration between the Bahrain Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication and the Royal Bahraini Air Force, the sixth Bahrain International Airshow is set to build upon a successful track record to produce the biggest and busiest show in its 10-year history. Whether your company’s focus is on military, commercial, or private aviation, Bahrain is where you need to be in order to follow up on conversations started in Dubai,
or begin new ones.

Two years have elapsed since the inking of deals to bring both new F-16 Block 70s and upgrades to the existing Royal Bahraini Air Force F-16 fleet, as well as Bell AH-1Z Vipers, to the kingdom. In addition to these committed acquisitions, Bahrain also signed an agreement last year to purchase the Patriot defense system. Through these actions, we can see that Bahrain, and its immediate neighbors for that matter, demonstrate a preference for American made products. With the focus now on the upkeep and maintenance of these systems, MRO, parts suppliers and system customization take center stage.

While defense deals have taken center stage for a large part of the last two years, the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recently announced plans to construct “a whole new airport and new runways” in Bahrain. This project, expected to be completed later this decade, is separate and in addition to the US $1.1B expansion of the airport which was initiated in 2016. Get in at the ground level of these discussions.

The inaugural USA Partnership Pavilion at the 2018 edition of the Bahrain Airshow was the center piece of the exhibition hall at Sakhir Airbase. The Kallman organized 400 square meter pavilion was home to 21 top aerospace and defense companies. In addition to hosting a diverse set of companies, Arizona and Missouri both sponsored state booths, and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA)
had an impressive onsite showing. Complementing the industry exhibits were visits from a number of VIPs, including Ambassador Justin Siberell, Apollo 15 Astronaut Col. Al Worden, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain.

In Partnership with Bahrain’s National Space Science Agency and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication, four students and an educator will be awarded the nation’s "Endeavour" scholarships at Bahrain International Airshow 2020. Named for Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, Col. Al Worden, USAF-Ret., (right) the winners will receive an all-expenses paid week of hands-on astronaut training at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center's Space Camp in Huntsville, AL.

First announced at the 2019 Paris Air Show, the Endeavour Scholarship program is a "nation-to-nation" goodwill initiative of the Kallman Foundation, presented in partnership with stakeholders in international airshow communities.
