Build A Miracle in Action!

One of the beautiful things about Build A Miracle is the ability to recognize a problem and then find solutions that help the community to prosper and the people to grow in ways they never thought possible...

BAM began with the dream to build one home a year for families who worked hard, but just weren't able to make their home a safe, secure place to live.

That dream of building one home a year grew so much bigger than we ever imagined thanks to the support of generous sponsors who fell in love with the people and the program

- and who wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.

Because of this love of neighbors and faith in the program,

December 2, we celebrated building

BAM House #500!

Celebrating with the BAM Community

After painting house #500, over 2500 people from

Build A Miracle homes and educational programs came

together at the Community Center to celebrate - both House #500 and the blessing that BAM has been in their lives.

BAM in Action

Through the Community Center

Focusing on education was the best bet to end

the cycle of poverty...

The Community Center was built to empower the next generation with an education - and have the earning potential to build their own homes.

BAM in Action

Through the Butterfly Program

When we lost one of our beloved youth to what we felt was caused by social media, the community immediately reacted and started

The Butterfly Program.

Within 2 weeks the team gathered over 400 parents at the Community Center to participate.

They heard from experts and our psychologists about the dangers of social media and then the parents were able to meet

with our technology team to learn how to place restrictions

on their kids' devices.

They also saw performances by our dancers, musicians and athletes and were given the opportunity to sign their kids up for all of these types of programs at the Community Center.

Now these classes are more full than ever as even more coaches and psychology workshops were brought to the Community Center.

Parents were tearful with gratitude and thankful for the blessing of being part of a place that takes such

an interest in their well being and the well being of their children - and to belong to a place that is always looking for ways to improve their lives.

BAM in Action

Through the Reading Program

There were so many kids in classes at the Community Center reading far below grade level, that the team jumped into action and, with the help of sponsors, started an intensive

reading program.

Students now meet each week in small groups

working with teachers to help improve their

reading and writing skills.

BAM in Action

Preparing Students for College

(Along With Their Parents)

Most parents in BAM homes have an elementary or middle school education, so the education team has many informational programs taught and run by

BAM college graduates.

These programs help explain the high school and

college process.

There are also many courses to help students make career and academic decisions, as well as prep for

college exams.

BAM in Action

Through the Grandparent Program

When people noticed that many elderly in the community were alone and forgotten, the Grandparents' Program was started.

Now, every month people from each community meet with over 100 of their cherished elderly for fun activities.

BAM volunteers also go to the houses of the grandparents to clean or help with chores that need to be done.

BAM in Action

Through the Food Program

Hundreds of children are still fed each week by the food program - which began in response to children coming hungry to the Community Center and unable to focus on their classes.

BAM in Action

Through Technology

Children and adults of every age take computer classes at the Community Center.

Some of our college students have told us that they started college ahead of their peers because of the computer and technology classes they had taken at the Center.

BAM in Action

Through the Transportation Program

When members in the community realized that many kids lived too far away to take advantage of the programs at the Community Center, the transportation program began.

BAM's chaperoned buses drive to EVEN MORE neighborhoods everyday to pick up EVEN MORE kids to take them to the Center and drop them back off at the end of the day.

BAM in Action

Building Homes for Families

We could go on sharing stories about the Community Center and how the things that are happening each day are making a difference in the lives of others, but we will leave you today with pictures of some of the families on the waiting list for a home.

No matter how their lives are today, it gives the people of the community such joy knowing that they too, are a part of the

Build A Miracle family and if they are willing to do the hard and necessary work, their living conditions will soon be changing.

Build A Miracle creates a path out of the vulnerable class.

Then they become "BAM in Action" themselves,

encouraging the next generation of BAM families!

Thanks for being THE REASON

BAM is always able to be "In Action" working to make this world better.

We couldn't do it without you!
