Applications Open for The Jim Moran Institute’s Tampa Bay Small Business Executive Program

TAMPA, Fla. — The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, part of the Florida State University College of Business, is accepting applications for its Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) Class VII in Tampa Bay.
The program, which is offered at no cost to participants, is funded by Jan Moran and The Jim Moran Foundation. The deadline to apply is Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.
The SBEP helps for-profit business leaders work on their business while accommodating their busy schedules. Taught by industry experts, participants learn the Business Model Canvas and are given other tools to emerge as stronger leaders ready to capitalize on business opportunities. The program helps identify clear and focused strategies in marketing, exit strategies, financial analysis and more.
“As an entrepreneur myself, I truly enjoy the opportunity to work with local small business executives to improve their business models and become more effective leaders,” said Shane Smith, PhD, director of Central Florida Operations at the Jim Moran Institute. “As we all continue to navigate COVID, on top of the daily struggles these individuals already face in maintaining successful organizations, our no cost programs are an important resource that I encourage Tampa entrepreneurs to consider.”
The SBEP consists of eight sessions, each focusing on a particular aspect of growing a small business. Beginning Feb. 8, 2022, and running through May 17, 2022, the sessions are held every other week from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Applicants must be actively involved in running a business, be a key decision-maker and their company must have been established for at least three years and have five or more employees to be eligible for the program.
Graduates receive a certificate and the opportunity to join an ongoing peer roundtable. They are also encouraged to participate in workshops, conferences, and other Jim Moran Institute events.
To apply for the SBEP, visit jimmoraninstitute.fsu.edu. For more information, or to learn more about the Jim Moran Institute’s Central Florida Operations, contact Shane Smith at [email protected] or call 813-789-5966.
While the upcoming executive program is currently scheduled to be held in-person, the Jim Moran Institute is following the guidance of college, university, local, state, and federal officials in each of their satellite locations to maintain the health and safety of clients, staff, volunteers, and guests. The fluidity of the situation is likely to require continuing flexibility. All program schedules and formats are subject to change and will be revised as needed.

About the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship
