October is Manufacturing Month!

What is manufacturing month?

Manufacturing Month is an annual national event executed locally with the support of thousands of manufacturers across the country as they host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase today's advanced manufacturing.

Why is manufacturing month important?

The number one challenge facing employers is the ability to find talented workers. Students are not aware of the vast number of career options available in the manufacturing field.

2021 MakeMore Manufacturing Summit Segment - Outlook 2022 Segment

As 2021 comes to an end, the sector leaves behind an unprecedented time of change, adaptation and resilience. Change, however, is always on the horizon. The emergence of the Smart Factory and its transformation of the sector continues. Keeping our workforce skilled while growing the next generation is ongoing. Growing manufacturers from 2nd to 3rd stage is exciting and challenging.Policies that affect the sector will either help or hinder. This session will take a bold leap into 2022 with a “future focused” agenda that brings together industry experts and trailblazers ready to tackle the big issues.

The MakeMore Manufacturing Summit is a leadership-focused initiative designed around connecting ecosystem stakeholders with the needs and realities of industry leaders from the manufacturing sector. Led by FloridaMakes, in partnership with the Associated Industries of Florida, CareerSource Florida, Enterprise Florida, Inc. and the Florida Chamber of Commerce, it intends to serves as an annual platform to exchange ideas around how our state resources are addressing the impact of market dynamics, economic trends and policies, and new technologies in this sector.
