A Note from Buddy

The past several weeks I have had many conversations and emails containing concerns about the families who are living with food insecurity. This has been especially true for constituents of some of our ministry partners at Saint Anne’s. Wondering how we as a parish might respond, I called Hannah to ask if we might use portions of our discretionary accounts to render assistance. Of course, she agreed.

A few hours later a parishioner delivered a check for $10,000.00 to be used for food assistance. Following up with a phone call we discussed the seriousness of current situation with families, especially children going hungry. We decided to send part of the gift to Agape that is providing cards for food. The other part went to Urban Recipe, who in partnership with the Atlanta Food Bank, is creating pop up food pantries around metro Atlanta. The reopening of the government brings relief to many, but it will take some time to return to normal. I hope you will join me in giving thanks for the love and generosity of a fellow parishioner for our neighbors in need.

Our stewardship campaign is continuing to go well, and we are within $110,000 of our goal, but we still need to hear from about forty-five parishioners. The finance committee, vestry, and staff are working hard to create a balanced budget for the financial stability of the parish. We ask that you prayerfully consider making a pledge to support the ministry of Saint Anne’s.

We had a glorious Day School Sunday welcoming school families and staff and our guest preacher, the Rev. Wendy Porter Cade. We also welcomed three new church members though Baptism! The children led the congregation in the Day School prayer and the children's choirs sang.

Also on Sunday, our confirmation class visited the Church of Common Ground. They prepared and served lunch to those gathered following Eucharist.

A Birthday Prayer

O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servants as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen them to trust in your goodness all the days of their life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

If you have not already pledged, please prayerfully consider doing so in support of the mission and ministry of Saint Annes. Pledge cards have been mailed to the parish and are in the pews and Narthex. If you prefer you may pledge online using the button above.

DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, NOV. 30
Give thanks for all that you have and help the Agape Community Center provide a happy Christmas for some of the children and seniors it serves by donating to The Giving Tree. You’ll find the tree in the Narthex decorated by with names and Christmas wishes. Please take a name from the tree and
purchase one or more gifts from the wish list and return them wrapped to St. Anne’s before noon on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30.  (Gifts suggested not to exceed $50.00.)  Place them under the tree in the Narthex or leave them at the church office during work hours. Please clearly label the gift(s) with the recipient’s full name and number.  The ornament from the tree can be used to label the present.

If you prefer - or in addition - monetary donations will be used to purchase $100 Walmart gift cards to distribute to each family with children. If you’d like to donate, you can do so on the Saint Anne's website, under the Give tab (just look for the Giving Tree button) or you can use the QR code to go directly to Giving Tree online form.

Make your dedications now for Christmas

It is a great tradition to honor your loved ones by making a donation toward our special flowers and music on Christmas Eve. The dedications may be in memory of or thanksgiving for special people in your life. Please use the Christmas Flower and Music Offering envelopes in the pews and place envelopes in the offering plate. This also honors the yearlong work of the Flower Guild and choirs. The deadline to submit names is Sunday, December 14.

ONGOING MINISTRY

Help for Refugee Family

Saint Anne's is continuing to assist the Majambere family as they begin their new life in America. The children have settled into school and are learning English. If you would like to make a financial contribution please use the link below or the QR code at right.

Members of the food co-op, Urban Recipe, meet every other week at Saint Anne's to unload, sort and pack food to take home. A coordinator from Urban Recipe is onsite each time, but we need a Saint Anne's member to serve as a sort of host: unlocking and locking doors, greeting the coordinator and members, and, mostly, being a warm and welcoming presence. For more information or to sign up, click the button below. If you have questions, contact Amber Almond at 917-684-5459.

HONOR A LOVED ONE WITH ALTAR FLOWERS

The flowers on the Altar each Sunday not only honor our creator God but may also give thanks for or remember loved ones. If you would like to make a donation for Altar flowers in honor, thanksgiving or remembrance, please talk to Katherine Kinser (10:30am service) or Sacy Bryant (8am service). You may also email Hala in the church office. Be sure to include your dedication and the Sunday you'd like your gift to grace the church. She will be in touch to confirm details. Please put "flower dedication" in the subject line.

We give thanks for gifts totaling $91,546.58 in October. Memorial and other designated gifts given for specific ministries are not included in this number. Questions? Contact David Hendee, chair of the Finance Committee, at 404-668-0715-0242 or Mike Dunlap, Treasurer, at 404-536-7505.

If you have not made a pledge for 2025, please consider making a financial pledge in support of Saint Anne's community and ministry.

Send in your Saint Anne's News

Please send your announcements/news to us to include as space allows. Remember - photos are welcome, too! Please be sure to note that it is for the monthly newsletter!

Scammers are aggressively targeting churches by email and text. You will never receive an email from a staff person at Saint Anne’s requesting information from a non-Saint Anne’s email address.  No staff member will ever text you asking for gift cards or other donations. We do not send parish texts.
