Dear Friends of AHP,
We wanted to make you aware of the most recent ABC-AHP-NCNPR Botanical Adulterants Prevention Program (BAPP) Laboratory Guidance Document (LGD) on echinacea (Echinacea angustifolia, E. pallida, and E. purpurea) herb, root, and extract adulteration. This marks more than 100 BAPP bulletins that have been developed since the inception of the program 15 years ago. It is fair to say, this is the most comprehensive initiative globally to both raise awareness regarding botanical adulterations and provide solutions of how to improve all aspects of the botanical ingredient supply chain.
Congratulations to all at ABC-AHP-NCNPR who make these works possible, especially to Dr. Stefan Gafner who is the work horse behind the publications, the many peer reviewers, and the sponsors, without whom this work of our collective organizations would not be possible.
