It's Summer at the Bartlett! That means camp starts next week. A big welcome to this year's camp staff: Guerdie (lead counselor and CCSU Biology major, Maya, Alex G., Alex O., and Emily.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for supporting the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens! From time to time, we will be sending out a members-only communication so that you are kept in the loop on the latest developments and news on our grounds, as well as the benefits and perks that come with being a member of the Bartlett.

Members have long been the heart of the Bartlett community, providing the vital support necessary to promote conservation and principles of sustainable landscape management. Because of your ongoing support, the Bartlett continues to thrive as a refuge for our diverse community, providing peaceful access to the natural world.

Finally, there is still time to renew your membership at current rates before the increase becomes effective on July 1st. This means that we will add an additional twelve months to your current term, no matter when it ends. See details below.

Thank You,

Beth Cavanaugh

Membership Coordinator

Did You Know...?

...that over 90,000 people visit the Bartlett each year?

We recently installed gates at our entrance and exit that automatically close and open at seasonally appropriate times. (Now through labor day they open at 6:30 am and close at 8:30 pm). These gates are equipped with "car counter" technology, which helps us get a more accurate understanding of foot traffic on the grounds. Wow!

Membership support helps underwrite our ability to maintain our grounds, keeping them safe and beautiful year-round. Thank you!

Happening on the Grounds

We've been very busy this spring and summer welcoming and working with corporate volunteer groups. Since late April, we've welcomed Stamford Rotary, Synchrony, Neilsen, Bank of America, Pitney Bowes, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Just this week we welcomed 40+ volunteers from Pitney Bowes (top left) and 60 college juniors spending the summer interning with Synchrony (bottom left--getting instruction from Lenny before they dig into one of several mulching projects).

Membership support helps underwrite our ability to provide materials and supplies to these large groups. These large groups, in turn, keep our property groomed and healthy.

Thank you!
