Why should you plan to get outdoors?
Volume 3 | March 18 2020

Dear BASEC Community,

Like many of you, we are now working remotely--and that includes learning to teach remotely, as well! While many pedagogical fundamentals are the same, there is much to learn about different platforms, teaching techniques, and communicating across cyberspace. We can't wait to share our next phase, which we're getting ready to launch next week. Stay tuned to our newsletter, as we'll be keeping you updated on our progress!

For the middle day of our first week of virtual learning, we thought it appropriate to focus on movement, self-care, and fun challenges. We hope you and your child enjoy!

Kind regards,

Andrew Mountford
BASEC Founder & Executive Director
Finding Ways to Keep Moving
We can all agree that exercise and getting outside is beneficial not only for our bodies but also our minds. During this time, finding ways to get moving safely is really helpful. Various experts, and this New York Times article, have said being outside to walk, run, or bike is okay--and even recommended--as long as we are all taking the right precautions. However, with spring upon us and “April showers,” some fun indoor activities are aways good to have up our sleeves. Thanks to Danny and James, BASEC Sports Specialists, we’ve compiled a list of fun games you can do at home, as well as some Cosmic Kids Yoga videos to follow along with.
