BASF MASTER X-SEED 55
Strength-Enhancing Admixture

BASF's Master X-Seed 55 is a first-of-its-kind, strength-enhancing admixture that improves both early- and late-age strength development in concrete, while supporting sustainable construction.

Master X-Seed 55 admixture is a stable suspension of synthetically-produced crystalline calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) nanoparticles. These nanoparticles facilitate the growth of CSH crystals between cement grains and improves overall hydration of portland cement, thereby increasing early- and late-age strength development. Master X-Seed 55 can increase strength performance by 1,000 psi or more - depending on the materials.

Enhancing cement hydration is critical to achieving increased strength development. Master X-Seed 55 admixture provides unmatched strength performance and is creating a new category of admixture performance. The use of the CSH nanoparticles provide the opportunity for mix optimization without strength loss. It also provides the ability to increase the amount of supplementary cementitious materials improving the environmental footprint of a structure.

FIBER IS COST COMPETITIVE FOR SECONDARY CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT
Slabs, Paving, Driveways & Sidewalks

As steel prices rise in 2018, keep in mind that fiber is a cost competitive option for secondary reinforcement in concrete. Slabs, paving, driveways, sidewalks are common applications where steel reinforcement can be converted to fibers.

MMC Materials and Bayou Concrete offer a free cost analysis to see if your job can save money by switching to fiber. Contact your MMC or Bayou rep for more details.

REDI-ROCK WINS AT MISSISSIPPI STATE
A Gravity & Reinforced Wall Solution

Redi Rock was chosen for four different walls at the new Dudy Noble Field at Mississippi State University. Of the four walls, three were gravity walls with the fourth being a reinforced wall. The reinforced wall also boasted two courses of hollow core blocks which were used as a traffic barrier. The hollow core blocks were tied into the existing retaining wall and then filled with concrete.

JESCO was the general contractor on this job and the wall was installed by TLC, of Pontotoc.
