Bringing Your Programs to the Browser

Your days of waiting to bring your legacy applications to the browser are no more. By using the newest client, WebUI, you can bring your application to the browser with minimal code changes. Unlike DWC, WebUI immediately creates the bridge to bring your BBx programs online.

Graffiti Composer

A new era of application development is here with the launch of the browser tool Graffiti Composer. This online WYSIWYG tool lets you use AI to translate design concepts directly into a layout, radically simplifying the initial development lifecycle. Additionally, the drag-and-drop tools allow you to finalize the design in real time with BBj controls and HTML elements. When you’re satisfied with what you’ve created, you can export the results into a file to use in your next DWC app.

Recurring Invoices

Recurring invoices can now happen multiple times per month, which is helpful for those with clients on semi-monthly billing cycles.

Returning Goods

With the Return of Goods Entry and the Return of Goods Register, you can track goods returned to the vendor they were purchased from.

JasperReports 7

The BBJasper utility in BBj 26.00 uses JasperReports 7, the current long-term version supported by Jaspersoft. However, please be aware that JasperReports 7 is not backward-compatible. Those with existing reports need to resave and recompile all reports with Jaspersoft Studio 7, both .jrxml (source) and .jasper (compiled).

File Conversions in Enterprise Manager

The new Enterprise Manager task, File Manager, lets you view a directory's contents, display file types, and easily convert files between formats, such as MKEYED > VKEYED, without writing custom conversion programs. Minimize disruption and make scaling your application easier by using this feature.

Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ

Boost your BBx development workflow with our new VS Code extension and IntelliJ plug-in! These powerful tools are packed with features like syntax highlighting for BBj programs, real-time error diagnostics, intelligent code completion for BBj keywords and Java classes, and hover documentation.

You can also benefit from code formatting, outline views for object-oriented programs, and the ability to compile and launch your BBj programs directly in GUI, BUI, and DWC environments using a simple toolbar button or a keyboard shortcut. Go to the BBj Language Support to learn more.
