There Was A Time

ARTIST NOTE: This antique Smith & Wesson .38 from 1884 (confirmed by S&W to have left their factory on November 29, 1884 and delivered to M.W. Robinson, New York City, NY) - was supposedly my great-great grandmother's gun - it was on its way to be appraised for a potential collector when Dena said to me, "why don't you create a piece using the old gun with something in the gallery?" And so, as she is so often correct, I proceeded with that thought to the "art barn" and created, "There Was a Time". Looking at this revolver from the late 1800's against worn wood and metal from the mid-1800's you can't help but take pause at what all must have passed by, and or was involved, with these items...pretty amazing stuff - and a good idea, Dena :-)
