Tozier's Turkey Quest November 18, 2018
What does it cost?
Entry fee $4.00 a person or $2.00 a person with a toiletry donation for the Bucksport community Concerns pantry or Pet Supplies for the Bucksport Animal Shelter. We will also be collecting for the Mile’s Lane Friday Food Program - helping keep kids fed over the weekends

What are we racing for?
Like a traditional scavenger hunt, you’ll meet at the beginning, split into teams and compete against each other. There are hidden 6 Turkey Idols, all within 30 minutes of Bucksport. Teams receive a clue sheet at the start of the race. Each clue will lead you to an idol or other challenge. As teams complete each challenge, which may have them find cool things, solve riddles, take goofy photos and more, they’ll upload their pictures to the Tozier’s Turkey Trek event page on facebook. If done correctly, each time your team will earn a point towards the grand prize. The teams that retrieve the Idols, complete the Idol Picture Challenges and bring them back to the chamber will be awarded a frozen turkey Certificate (Thanks to Tozier’s Family Markets). Limit one TURKEY idol per team.

I want in! When and where do I need to be?
The race officially begins at 12 PM, November 18, 2018 so please arrive at the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce office, 54 Main Street, Bucksport at 11 AM. There will be a check-in desk to pay your entry fee and receive your team bibs. Clues will be handed out to the team captains right before the race begins. You only have two hours to complete your quest! Teams will be disqualified if they have not returned to the chamber by 2:00pm.

For more information contact the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, 207.469.6818 or email office@bucksportbaychamber.com Visit our Facebook page to follow the event .

"A Star is Born"
Sponsored by Brook Ewing Minner
November 911, 2018
136 minutes

In "A Star Is Born," Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga fuse their considerable talents to depict the raw and passionate tale of Jack and Ally, two artistic souls coming together, on stage and in life. Theirs is a complex journey through the beauty and the heartbreak of a relationship struggling to survive.
In this new take on the iconic love story, four-time Oscar nominee Cooper ("American Sniper," "American Hustle," "Silver Linings Playbook"), makes his directorial debut, and also stars alongside multiple award-winning, Oscar-nominated music superstar Gaga in her first leading role in a major motion picture. Cooper portrays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers and falls in love with struggling artist Ally. She has given up on her dream to become a successful singer, until she meets Jack, who immediately sees her natural talent.

The film also stars Andrew Dice Clay ("Blue Jasmine"), with Dave Chappelle ("Chi-Raq") and Sam Elliott, whose nearly 50-year career includes standout performances in such films as "Mask," "Tombstone" and, most recently, "The Hero." In addition to playing Ally, Gaga-who earned an Oscar nod for the song "Til It Happens to You" from the film "The Hunting Ground"-performs original songs in the film with Cooper, which they wrote with a handful of artists, including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. The music is original and all vocals for the movie were recorded live during filming.

Bucksport Area Child Care Center 2018 Annual Sock Drive
November 1 thru November 21, 2018

The season of Thanksgiving is upon us; a time of family and friends. Many people in our communities have little to be thankful for, and many go without basic necessities. In the hopes of easing their suffering and to help teach our children compassion and community responsibility we will start this week, our annual sock drive. We will be collecting pairs of socks to give to the Bangor Homeless Shelter on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

We are collecting new, adult size, male or female socks. For every pair of socks your child brings in they will receive a sticker to place on our giant sock. Last year, we collected 274 pairs of socks! The folks that run the shelter were so thankful for our gift to them. They were especially thankful to provide their guests with dry, clean socks to sleep in that night. Please help us to meet or break our previous record of 274 pairs of the socks.

If you have questions you can call the center at 207-469-7623
