As an important leader in our Jewish community, Bruce Friedlander has performed a great deal of volunteer work with results that have contributed immeasurably to improving the lives of our Jewish community.
Indeed, over the years, he has raised millions of dollars that went toward remodeling and upgrading the JCC and Beth El, for example. Those funds also helped advance programs that fostered growth and bettered our Jewish community.
Yet, I'm sure that if you asked Bruce, he’d say he was just a “regular guy,” blessed with a wonderful family and a great career in the grocery business.
Nevertheless, this “regular” guy had an extraordinary opportunity to travel to Washington DC, visit the White House, and while there in a group reception, he got to talk - one on one - with the president of the United States. For about 20 minutes!
This Wednesday, he’ll share the story behind the trip, his experiences and make some insightful and thought-provoking observations on how we can continue the positive, successful trajectory that has made many kvell about what a wonderful Jewish community we have.
