MEET BIG SISTER AMY &
LITTLE SISTER RACHEL
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County is pleased to recognize Big Sister Amy as the Volunteer of the Month for February of 2020. Amy is the owner of a locally owned gift shop called Little Luxuries, which will be celebrating 30 years in business on State Street this year! Amy was motivated to become a Big Sister because she wanted to establish a bond with a young girl in our community and become lifelong friends.

Amy has been matched with her Little Sister Rachel since February of 2016. Big Sister Amy considers their friendship one of her closest friendships because she has been a consistent person in her life since the day they first met. Some of their favorite activities to do together are picking up trash on Earth Day, riding bikes, doing arts and crafts, and cooking delicious meals. Over the years, Amy has taught Rachel life skills, helped her improve her reading and writing skills and how to manage money. Last year, they had a successful lemonade stand that Little Sister Rachel was VERY proud of.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is grateful to all of our volunteers who, like Amy, are making a difference one child at a time. Congratulations to Big Sister Amy on being our Big of the month!

Bigs and Littles visited  VR Galaxy Madison  for a Virtual Reality experience this month. For many, this was their first time experiencing something like this. It's always a blast when Bigs and Littles get the opportunity to experience something new together.
