Fall pictures, Fall choir concerts, and more outdoor education field trips filled our week! Our students are settling into Quarter 2 and working hard in the classroom.

We are excited to celebrate Halloween next week. On Thursday, we will have our PTO Halloween Party and BBES Parade (weather permitting). As we have posted for the past month, students may wear a costume to school as long as it does not distract from the school day. Students are expected to participate in physical education, recess, and all class activities. Costumes cannot cover the face, be bloody or gory, or have weapons of any kind. Students who wish to wear something over their faces for the parade must have staff member approval BEFORE Thursday. If students wear costumes to school they will need to be able to sit, stand, and participate in the regular school day. Students will not have time to change into costumes or blow-up costumes. Those types of costumes must be left at home. As a reminder, we will not allow students to hand out candy. All candy will be sent home with the child.

Also, parents are invited to watch our Halloween parade from outside of the school. The parade will begin at 3:00 pm. Our students will begin parading out the recess doors by the playground. They will proceed towards the front of the school by the gymnasium, continue by the Main Office, and return to the building through the kindergarten doors. Parents are welcome to watch the parade from any outdoor area surrounding the parade route.

Only PTO party volunteers who were pre-approved to assist with the party will be allowed into the building. PTO volunteers are to assist with the party and should not be a part of the parade.

Due to the uniqueness of the day, any requests for an early pick-up or change in pick-up must be communicated to the office by 1:00 pm on Halloween. With so many volunteers in the building, we cannot accommodate late changes to dismissal.

Remember, next week we have our PTO Kitchen Free Night on Monday and the Facilities Master Plan Listening Tour on Tuesday. Information can be found in the newsletter.

Quarter 1 report cards for students will be available on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 4:00 PM. You can access your child's report card through ParentVUE by using the following link: ParentVUE Dashboard

Looking ahead, please remember that November 7 is a 12:00 pm dismissal and there is no school for students on November 8. In addition, there is no school on November 5 due to Election Day.

Thank you,

Dr. Spallasso

PAWS: Positive Adults with Students

Partnering with our community is such an important part of schools. We would love to bring in positive adults to help out during the school day. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents, or community adults to make a difference in the lives of our Bristol Bay students. Questions about this program can be answered by Mr. Crosby, bccrosby@y115.org.
