Broadway BIA News

Last Call for PrideFest Capitol Hill!

As we've reported in past newsletters, all current Broadway BIA rate-payers in good standing are able to, courtesy of the Broadway BIA, get a FREE 10x10 booth space for this year's festival. Booth space if first-come, first-served, so we recommend you complete your booking in the next few days to guarantee your place. If you'd like more than (1) 10x10 space, additional space is available at a discount.

Last year there were 40,000 attendees at PrideFest Capitol Hill and for many businesses, it's the busiest day of the year. If you can't do a booth, then please come and enjoy the festivities! Four stages, outdoor bars and restaurants, craft vendors, and all the usual splendor of Broadway in Summer.

Your Ratepayer Dollars Hard at Work:

The Broadway BIA has a contract with Recology StreetScapes to sweep the sidewalks, remove graffiti,  bio -hazards and posters 7 days a week. If you see a problem (overflowing garbage or graffiti, for example), use the info at the bottom of this and every BBIA e-mail to call Recology. It's an easy and quick way to get issues resolved. If you're experiencing an ongoing issue near your business, you can always reach out to us directly (just reply to this e-mail).

The next walk-through is on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:30. Meet outside the Light Rail Station entrance at John/Broadway.

Here is a side by side comparison of April 2017 and 2018 clean up stats. Note the spike in graffiti clean-up and removal following our graffiti audit:

Please contact customer service 24/7 at   or call   (206) 859-6700 to report graffiti, illegal dumping, sharps and biohazards.  Graffiti should be removed within 24 hours and sharps and biohazards will be removed in three hours.
