Opportunities for Licensed Structural Engineers

Serve on a BBRS Committee, and/or Share this Opportunity with Your Professional Network

The Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) has immediate openings for licensed structural engineers interested in serving on one of the following BBRS Committees as the Board works toward the 11th edition of the building code:

  • Residential Code Subcommittee
  • Manufactured Buildings Subcommittee
  • Existing Building Advisory Committee
  • Structural Advisory Committee

The BBRS approved changes to the makeup of subcommittee members and the Chair is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the vacant positions.

In general, subcommittees review certain chapters of the base building code or proposed code amendments as directed by the BBRS and make recommendations on proposed code amendments to be included in the 780 CMR. The committees generally meet once or twice a month for several months until they make final recommendations to the BBRS.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED:

Please email BBRS Chair Lisa Davey, PE to express your interest in a particular subcommittee listed above, and include a copy of your CV or relevant experience. (CV's do not need to be very formal.)
