December 2024 Holiday Edition

Happy Holidays!

December is upon us, marked by early darkness and cold outside and for many of us, warmth and sparkly lights inside. We send you our warmest greetings during the midpoint of the festive season, bookended by Diwali and Chinese New Year.

Our story on festive traditions offers a taste of how people throughout BC celebrate and gather with their loved ones and communities. Our province is abundant with wonderful multicultural events.

While December is also a time to relax and reflect, it’s also a difficult time for many people we serve. We’ve summarized resources that will help vulnerable adults through what are often challenges during the holidays, whether they are isolated, food insecure or grieving the loss of others. If you identify important resources that we’ve missed, we’d love to add them to our list.

Whether you celebrate with your birth or chosen families, celebrate alone or don’t celebrate at all, we wish you a warm, safe and cozy season. Thank you for including us in your world each month. We are excited to see what 2025 will bring!
