CFC 2025 Farmer Election Package

Canadians go to the poles April 28 to select the next government.

We continue to advocate for our sector and the importance of maintaining a “hands off” approach when it comes to trade deals.

CFC has provided an election package for you to review and use when having discussions with your MP or a letter format that you can send to that MP if you are unable to meet with them.

Introducing the 2025-2026 CFC Young Farmers

A few weeks ago, the 2025-2026 cohort for the Chicken Farmers of Canada’s Young Farmers Program came to Ottawa to take part in the Annual General Meeting, Strategic Planning Session,

and the Joint Annual Reception.

This was the first meeting that the newest cohort of young farmers attended all together, and it was a very busy week for them,

including a BC representative, Tyler Regehr.

The young farmers from the 2024-2025 program also joined us in Ottawa, and all nine participants were able to meet the new Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Rural Economic Development,

the Honourable Kody Blois.

Canadian Chicken Farmers Support Government Commitment to Address

Spent Fowl Fraud

Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) is encouraged by the recent statement from the Government of Canada, demonstrating a strong commitment to tackling the fraudulent importation of broiler meat mislabeled as spent fowl. CFC issued a statement in support of this critical priority which can be found here.

Reminder: AgriStability

While historically broiler production has not typically met the AgriStability threshold, you are encouraged to sign up and explore your options. With the continued disease threats, reduction of Market Development, chick shortages over the last several years

(particularly right now), and tariff & trade threats,

this may be an ideal time to utilize AgriStability on your farm.

AgriStability is making it easier than ever to access AgriStability support! With their new online forms, submitting your information is simpler and more efficient—helping you save time and potentially reduce accounting costs.

Need help with a form? Call them toll-free at 1-877-343-2767.
