How Canadian Chicken Farmers Are Reducing Their Environmental Footprint
The CFC has released the results of its latest Lifecycle Assessment (LCA), confirming that Canadian chicken producers have made measurable improvements in reducing their environmental footprint over the past seven years. Thank you—well done, growers!
“This assessment shows that while chicken is already one of the lowest-carbon animal proteins, our sector continues to find ways to further reduce emissions and use resources more responsibly.” - Tim Klompmaker, CFC
Check out their key findings, and download a 3-page infographic (scroll to the bottom of the webpage) that shows the good work worth celebrating!

Catching Cost being removed from Live Price
EFFECTIVE in MARCH 2026
The Board announced last week that it will permanently remove the Catching cost line from both the BC Cost of Production (COP) formula and the BC Live Price, effective in the quota period after the full update of the BC COP formula. That is, the Board is targeting completion of the COP update for A-200, with removal of Catching beginning in A-201 (beginning March 8, 2026).
This aligns BC's practices with the rest of Canada.
