FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 20, 2019
Each month during the regular season, players from each BC Hockey league are recognized for their outstanding work ethic, performance and commitment to safety as Player of the Month.
#9 Brayden Boehm
North Island Silvertips
Nanaimo, BC
11G, 11A
Brayden netted nine (9) points (5G, 4A) last month in seven (7) games. He has a great attitude, tremendous work ethic and is a leader on the team as a 15 year old.

He comes to the rink every day with a smile on his face and is determined to improve his game to get himself ready for the next level.

Brayden volunteers with the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association (MHA).
#16 Camie Matteau Rushbrook

Greater Vancouver Comets
Whistler, BC
5G, 5A
Coming to Vancouver from a small community, Camie tries to get involved as often as she can. One of her favourite activities is helping to coach Whistler's first-ever Novice female hockey team. By sharing her personal experiences growing up playing hockey, she inspires these young girls to pursue their hockey dreams.

For the past three (3) summers, Camie has been a camp counselor at the Canadian Hockey Enterprises summer camps and has been a junior coach for DFX mountain biking camps. She also volunteers for the local CanSkate program.

Camie has presented at her local elementary school about her story of being a high-level athlete from a small town and talk about how she balances sports, school and a social life.

She comes to the rink every day with a smile and creates a positive environment for everyone around her. Camie makes a positive impact on the Comets by continually supporting and encouraging others.
#91 Scott Cousins
Cariboo Cougars
Prince George, BC
21G, 21A
In six (6) games in November, Cousins scored eight (8) goals and picked up 12 assists.

Scott has demonstrated tremendous leadership on and off the ice for the Cougars, not only by his teachings but his play.

The Cougars were involved in a program that took place where they boys all pitched in to buy gifts for children in need at Canadian Tire for the breakfast club.
#12 Nathan Gosso
Okanagan Rockets
West Kelowna, BC
16G, 11A
At the end of November, Nathan led the Major Bantam League (MBL) in points with 24 (14G, 10A) in all 14 games for the Rockets. He scored a point in all five (5) games and had multiple points in each game except one (1).

He scored two (2) game-winning goals in November and scored an important tying goal late in the third period versus the North Island Silvertips to send the game to overtime and keep the loss column for the Rockets at zero.

Nathan has shown great leadership within the team and contributed consistently during team meetings when working through the book "Seven (7) Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. Every week when his group is responsible for the care and cleanliness of the locker room and team equipment, he will stay behind to complete the tasks.

He has developed his positive nature over the season and has even encouraged his teammates at times.
