BC's Restart Plan Phase III - A Message from Discover Comox Valley
With Premier Horgan announcing a transition to Phase III of BC's Restart Plan, we are providing an update on the Disover Comox Valley 'Outdoors are In' Summer Campaign, and how businesses can collaborate, plus some additional items the team has been working on in the lead up to the Phase III announcement.

Participate in the Outdoors and In Campaign and Contest! 
The Discover Comox Valley team is eager to profile and support Comox Valley tourism and hospitality businesses during this summer of rebuilding. Here are a few quick things business and operators can do to join in!

1.      Submit Images, Video, Deals and Specials: Let us showcase your operations and services via DCV weekly consumer e-blasts, website and social media channels – keep us informed;
2.      Update your FREE Comox Valley Business Directory Listing: This directory will be used by DCV and Destination BC to showcase current services available;
3.      Contribute Prizing: Prizing is welcome for 2 or more guests to be used in weekly or Grand prize draw for the Outdoors are In Photo Contest; contribute prizing or giveaways to receive increase promotion and amplification of your services
5.      Live Chat: Let the new Discover Comox Valley Live Chat function support your staff, guests and customers questions about what to do and what’s open;

15th annual Comox Valley Growers Guide

Buying local has never been so important, and in support of increasing local farm sales, the 2020 Comox Valley Growers Guide was distributed on June 17, showcasing over 40 different farms and producers, and a myriad of incredible products available throughout the seasons.The Growers Guide has become the go-to tool for those looking for fresh, local products in the Comox Valley.

Discover Comox Valley Website Refresh:

A new template, colour palate and complete content overhaul including new navigation was integrated, with a focus on outreach and integration of bookable products, experiences and operators across key sectors including marine and outdoor. The site is being updated daily, so you and your teams can confidently use it as the go to source for what's open and what's available.  Website

Regular Hours Return - Vancouver Island Visitor Centre: 

The Vancouver Island was one of the first to reopen in BC on May 15, with an extensive safety plan in place. Now that we are in Phase III, the Centre will be  fully open from 9:30 - 4:30 pm daily.  Click here to view hours and contact info.

Mount Washington's Eagles Flight ZipTour opens June 27th!

Vancouver Islands longest ZipTour experience, the ZipTour spans a total length of 2, 313 meters (7,589 feet) with a breathtaking drop of 415 meters (1,364 vertical feet), including a first step off the top platform that puts riders more than a hundred feet above the ground doing 100 kph almost instantly. A four-stage $4 million dollar course that starts with a ride up the Eagle chair lift to the top of Mt. Washington, finishing back at the Alpine Lodge, and providing a whole new bird’s eye perspective of the surrounding terrain.

Vancouver Island Coastal Resiliency Program - Have You Registered?

TripAdvisor:

Destination British Columbia is encouraging to include the following information in your TripAdvisor account, in the ‘OVERVIEW’ section: the adjusted services, hours, and the instituted protocols for your staff and visitors at your place of businesses. Not only will show up in TripAdvisor, but this information transfers to your listing on HelloBC.com. This will allow you to prepare your visitors for what to expect and share what you expect of them when visiting.

Destination BC Recovery Marketing Campaign: 

Discover Comox Valley has participated in the briefings with DBC regarding their province wide Rediscover BC Campaign, encouraging BC residents to travel within the province. DCV are supporting with provision of content and information, as well as integrating key campaign tagging and themes in our own messaging, just as was done in Phase I and II, this will also include the Destination Canada campaign messaging #ComoxValleyNice.
Important YQQ and Harbour Air Seaplanes Updates (Flight Information)
Pacific Coastal Airlines

Pacific Coastal Airlines has now resumed scheduled service. It is important to note that they are currently offering a reduced schedule.

WestJet Service

The WestJet airlines service to Calgary continues from the Comox Valley Airport with four weekly flights. Flights to Edmonton and Vancouver has yet to be resumed.

Air Canada

The Air Canada service to Vancouver from Comox Valley Airport is expected to resume in September, not July as initially hoped.

Harbour Air Seaplanes

Harbour Air Seaplanes will resume schedule services on June 29th with flights twice daily on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. To Celebrate Harbour Air is offering 25% off Comox/Vancouver booklets of Pre-Paid Quick Tickets
