BCA News

Oct. 30, 2026

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God –

not by works, so that no one can boast.

For we are God’s handiwork,

created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in

advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8 - 10

Chapel service Wed., Nov. 4 will be led by Pastor Watson of First Lutheran Church.

Second quarter offerings will go to Northside Neighborhood House.

Congratulations to this week's "Whopping Acts of ROAR" recipient, Korbyn Graham, 4th grade.

He was recognized by his teacher, Ms. Barber, as well as a staff member. This is what they had to say about him.

“While many students at BCA show our ROAR mentality in what they say and do, Korbyn has been a silent leader in this regard all school year.

Respectful - He is attentive in class, kind to his peers, and shows genuine concern for not only his friends, but adults also. His kindness and thoughtfulness are exemplary.

Optimistic - Korbyn has a positive attitude each and every day. He often goes out of his way to say kind things to teachers and classmates. His smile and sense of humor are a vital part of our classroom community.

Accountable - Korbyn is quick to share honest feedback, even if details show a poor choice on his part. He holds himself to high standards and encourages his classmates to also meet expectations.

Responsible - Day in and day out, Korbyn comes to school prepared, follows routines and procedures and uses time wisely.

Korbyn is an excellent example of what it means to ROAR at BCA. I'm so very glad to have him in my class.”

- Sarah Barber, 4th grade teacher

“I always appreciate the courtesy Korbyn shows me in the hallway as I am passing by his class. Recently, I had my hands full with supplies, and he offered to help. I declined, as I felt I could make it to my office, but I thanked him for asking. Additionally, one day last week, I was approaching Spanish classroom and he thought I was going to enter, but I didn't. He promptly noticed and apologized for being in the doorway, which he was not. The point being, he is always aware of others around him, and wants to help and has excellent manners. I appreciate him very much, and he makes my day better when he acknowledges me in the hallway!”

Ice Cream Truck Visit

Nov. 23

Yesterday marked our third Ice Cream Truck visit for this semester. Throughout the school year, on the same day that our teachers are treated to their "Gift of Time" lunch, our PTL coordinates the Ice Cream Truck visit to allow students to purchase ice cream during their lunch period. So far, each visit has been a big hit for the students!

On Nov. 23, PTL volunteers will once again monitor the students in the cafeteria to allow teachers to enjoy lunch in the library conference room. During lunch, students will be able to visit the truck in the front parking lot to purchase their ice cream.

Be sure that you and your child choose the treat they will order, along with sending in correct amount of cash, prior to the day of the truck visit. This greatly helps our volunteers who help the students place their orders and maintain an orderly line.

We appreciate Sweet Treats for bringing their delicious ice cream our way!

For details on pricing and cash payment, please see the ORDER FORM.
