Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

Advent Season Begins

Advent season begins on Sun., Nov. 28. Advent means coming and arrival. This is the time of the year in which Christians wait and watch for the coming of baby Jesus on Christmas. This year, let us all try to slow down and enjoy the Advent season. We should use this time to get ourselves ready to accept this gift of baby Jesus. Let us put the emphasis of Christmas where it is supposed to be!

Learn more about Lutheran Advent traditions.

East Ridge Christmas Parade
Sat., Nov. 20 - 6:30 p.m.

Come out tomorrow night, Sat., Nov. 20, to watch the annual East Ridge Christmas parade! BCA will have an awesome float with several of our students riding! The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Germantown and Ringgold Road, across from Walgreen's (close to the East Ridge tunnels), and ends approximately at City Hall on Tombras Avenue.

Thank you to the many volunteers who helped build the float this week! We especially thank volunteer parent, Tisha Walker, for coordinating these efforts to build and gather volunteers, and to Mr. Tim, our cafeteria mgr. and IT specialist, for driving his truck in the parade. It takes many hands to make to make this a special event for our students and the community!
Thanksgiving Break - Nov. 22 - 26

School for K - 8th will be closed for the entire week of Thanksgiving - Nov. 22 - 26.

Basketball begins after Thanksgiving Break!

If your child would like to participate in the upcoming basketball season, please register at the provided links. Students do not have to "try out" for the team - it is simply a time to gain basketball skills and have friendly competition!

Would your child like to participate?

Gift Cards Available to Purchase from BCA

BCA previously participated in a gift card fundraising program called SCRIPS that encouraged enrolled families to purchase a variety of gift cards that they could use for personal shopping or gifts, and in turn, BCA would receive a varying percentage from the sale of each card.

We still have a few gift cards in stock that we would love to be able to sell to families for their benefit and ours!

If you will be purchasing gift cards as Christmas gifts this year, OR if you can purchase some cards to use personally, we have a few left from which to choose. BCA can still earn funds from these sales as well, so you would be benefiting BCA at the same time.

Remaining Gift Cards:
  • 9 for JCPenney ($25.00 each)
  • 2 for Belk ($25.00 each)
  • 1 for Regal Cinemas ($25.00)

If you are interested in purchasing a gift card, please contact Audra Cardillo in our business office at or 423-622-3755, ext. 13.
Thanksgiving Art and Activities!
Mrs. Webb's 2nd grader's get creative in showing all that they are thankful for this year!
Mrs. Webb's 2nd graders have been learning all about the traditions of the Macy's Day Parade this week, and created floats of their favorite characters! This morning, they held their own Thanksgiving parade around the school to show off their creations!

Mrs. Ware’s kindergarten class was assigned to disguise a turkey so the farmer doesn’t get it for Thanksgiving. The students were so creative with their turkey disguises, that there's no way the farmer will be able to find them!
Mrs. Bolden's kindergarten gobbled all around the school and showed off their turkey costumes this morning!
Mrs. Rhonda's PK3 (above) has their Thanksgiving Feast and design their own turkeys!

Mrs. Sara's PK4 (below) design feathers to "dress" the turkey!
