Dates to Remember
Dear Families,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected passing of former BCA care staff member, Mr. Ray Steinmetz.

Mr. Steinmetz is the father of Jamie Steinmetz and Allyson Steinmetz, both currently serving on our care staff. He joined BCA in 2001 and served year-round as the afternoon after care assistant director with Melissa Swafford (former cc director) until 2019. He held this position in conjunction with TSA through the Chattanooga Airport.

Many of our older current students and alumni remember him fondly for his good humor and willingness to serve in any capacity, as he did many times throughout his employment at BCA.

Because so many of our faculty and staff would like to uphold and honor the Steinmetz family during this time of sudden loss, we will close school and child care on Monday, May 3.

Please refer to the link below for information on visitation and funeral services on May 2 and 3.

I ask that you especially lift up Jamie and Allyson at this time as they cope with the untimely passing of their father.

Blessings,

David Topp
Principal

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 3 - 7
Let's show how much we appreciate our BCA teachers and caregivers!

Offer a Note of Encouragement on May 4!

On Tuesday, May 4, we are asking students to bring in a simple, but special, note of encouragement for their teacher! This can be a simple message by your child conveying a special way his or her teacher has encouraged them this year, or for the younger ones, you can help them write a note about something they love about their teacher!

During this special week, the faculty and staff will also be treated to breakfast from Tasty Doughnuts on Monday, in-school massages on Wednesday, and treated to lunch from Chicken Salad Chick on Friday as well as given a bag of goodies!

Help Us Treat our Teachers with Gifts!
Each faculty and staff member has a personalized "wish list" on the school website. Below is the link to the page with the wish lists/preferences:

Please review the wish lists from the link above for your child's teacher(s) and donate, if you choose, at least one item on their list to put in their tote bag.

Collection will take place through Wed., May 5. At each school entrance there are boxes with each teacher's name on it. You may drop items in the boxes (or give to your child to place in the box as they enter the building).

Please be sure your donations are clearly marked for the intended recipient! Remember - handmade items by your child are always the most appreciated, and those can be given to their teachers anytime!

For parents of Infants - 8th students, please refer to the contact information for parent liaisons who have volunteered to be the contact person for their teacher's gift tote:

If you have any questions about what to donate, how to donate, or other ways you can help make Teacher Appreciation Week a success, please email your class parent liaison. They'll be happy to help!

Let's make this the most meaningful Teacher Appreciation Week ever! Our BCA faculty and staff have gone above and beyond, and we want them to know how grateful we all are!

Thank you so much for your help to make this week special!
