Chapel

Chapel service on Wed., Aug. 19 will be led by Pastor Coulter, Pastor Emeritus, Athens Lutheran Church.

Families are always welcome to attend chapel with their student!

Our first quarter chapel offerings will go to the Lutheran Heritage Foundation. For the Sept. 23 chapel, a representative from this organization will offer a presentation to the students so that they can learn more on how their chapel offerings will benefit.

Proceeds from our Blue Jean $ Fridays this quarter will also benefit this non-profit. These days are held the last Friday each month.

New Bibles Presented in Chapel

Each year, second graders receive a special, age-appropriate study Bible that they will use throughout elementary. Additionally, fifth graders as well as new students in 3rd - 8th grade receive a Bible as they start BCA. We're so happy to have our new students with us, and that we can share a new Bible with them to read and study freely!

Please join us this Sun., Aug. 16 as First Lutheran recognizes and prays for our faculty and staff for the new school year.

BCA Sunday will also be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Sun., Aug. 23 at the 9 a.m. traditional service.

Fall picture day on Mon., Aug. 17 is for individual student photos for infants - 8th grade.

(Class photos are taken in the spring.)

You must pre-register HERE. Please put in your child's grade/level, and it will show up in the choice list as it auto-populates the list of grades.

K - 8th must wear chapel dress code. See chapel dress code.

Infants - PK4 - no required dress code, but they may dress up!

Back to School Night for Enrolled BCA Families!

Tues., Aug. 18

6 p.m.

BCA Gym

Enrolled BCA Families of infants - 8th grade are invited to attend on Aug. 18 to learn all about the new school year, extracurriculars as well as learn how you can take part in our Parent-Teacher League! We will need lots of volunteers to help with the many events coming up this year! We will also vote in our new 2026-2027 PTL Board.

Helping Hands Work Day

Sat., Aug. 22

9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

If you can offer your time and landscaping/repair skills/tools, please consider volunteering to help with the following tasks!

Tasks:

Moving the gazebo to the concrete slab to be secured

Trim crape myrtles

Tree trimming/removal

Tree work behind the playground

Clean ditch area

Tools needed:

Shovels

Wheel Barrows

Chainsaws

Rakes

Open House for Prospective Community Families !

We hope you are loving BCA! Help us share how other families can benefit from the beginnings of a Christian education in our Early Childhood program.

The community is invited to learn more about our school's mission and see the campus on Thurs., Aug. 27. Please share this with others who may benefit from a tour and enrollment!

Flag Patrol Meeting

Mon., Aug. 17 - 3:30 p.m.

The first meeting for our new Flag Patrol members is Mon., Aug. 17 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. This is led by Ms. Christine Morkert, office manager/A/P.

Cross Country Season

Cross Country practice for 3rd - 8th grade began Monday.

There's still time to check it out and sign up! Mrs. Randall is coaching the team!

TSSAA Physicals - All athletes must have a physical on file to participate in BCA's athletic program.

Concussion form - to be on file for all athletes

Soccer Season begins September

Students in 3rd - 8th grade who are interested in playing soccer this season need to complete a soccer registration form.

Student Events

Students practiced their first weather drill of the new school year earlier this week as well as a soft lockdown drill recently. We also held our our monthly fire drill last week! The students followed the lead of our teachers and all went smoothly for each practice.

Retreat for 7th/8th Graders

Aug. 20 - 21

The 7th/8th graders will enjoy the great outdoors at the First Lutheran Camp above Soddy-Daisy next Thursday and Friday. This is an outing that this age level has done for a few years, and it’s been a great way to start off the school year with team and leadership building activities.
