Dear Burbank Rose Floater
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
We are currently scheduled to foam the float on Monday, September 20 starting at 8:30 a.m. In order to prepare for foaming, we need all hands to help finish chicken wire, bed sheeting and masking off the non-foam areas on the float.
We will be having work parties on Saturday, September 11th and 18th. We will start at 10:00 a.m. and continue until at least 3:00 p.m. - maybe later. We really could use a second wave of volunteers starting around 1:00 p.m. on each day to help keep the work going.
This is a great job for teenagers on up — if you haven’t been to the float site in a while, now is the time to stop by and give a hand. Please CLICK HERE to note our COVID-19 Work Practices before coming.
Also, if you have old flat bed sheets or cardboard — please bring them to the float site.
Notes about foaming:
Everyone is welcome to watch the foaming take place, however, please be aware that the foam chemicals may damage plastic-based lens in eye glasses, also while spraying, the chemicals are very sticky and gooey, if you get any of the wet chemicals on your clothes, they may not come off. There is also a slight odor during the spraying and drying process.
