The BC Chicken Marketing Board is currently conducting a consultation to support the development of a *new* New Entrant Grower (NEG) program.

The Board is seeking input from chicken growers and other industry stakeholders, including the public, over the course of the Board’s

three-month consultation process. For more details, please see:

New Entrant Program Consultation | BC Chicken Marketing Board

The Board expects to announce the new program by July 2024.

In the interim, the Board is attempting to exhaust the remaining New Entrant waitlist under the old program in those regions where there is processor demand.

Where there isn’t sufficient processor demand, the waitlist will be expunged.

If you are currently on a New Entrant waitlist and have not yet been contacted by the BCCMB, please contact us at info@bcchicken.ca

HPAI C&D Insurance Options

The Board has learned that some growers have access to certain amounts of C&D insurance related to HPAI through their insurance provider.

Some insurance providers may have this product while others do not.

Growers are encouraged to discuss with their insurance providers whether you are currently covered or could be and plan for the unforeseen expense.

Further, the Board is reviewing whether other industry wide options are available and will report to industry once we learn more.
