AI in Construction Safety breakfast session draws a big crowd in Kelowna
Regional Safety Advisor David Dunham continued his successful AI roadshow with a presentation in Kelowna on September 23rd. AI in Construction Safety, which offers practical ways to incorporate AI into your construction business, drew a local crowd of more than 60 attendees. If you’re in the Victoria area, you still have one last chance to catch the presentation at the Marriott Victoria Inner Harbour on October 2nd by registering today.
(October) 23 and me: the BC Construction Health and Safety Conference starts in just a few days
October 23rd and 24th mark the dates of the BCCSA’s BC Construction Health and Safety Conference. If you haven’t made plans to join us at our new location, the Executive Plaza Hotel in Coquitlam, there’s still time to register. Our keynotes include safety advocate Candace Carnahan, who encourages workers to take a leading role in their own health and safety. Keynote Pamela Barnum shares strategies to break the communication code and project confidence, elevate influence, and improve negotiation outcomes. Additional sessions cover topics ranging from the importance of psychological health and safety to building recovery-inclusive workplaces in BC construction. Between sessions, enjoy our expanded trade show, packed wall-to-wall with exhibits.
Have you got safety questions? We’ve got answers! Introducing our new “Ask an RSA” feature
In this issue we’re introducing a regular monthly feature, Ask an RSA, where readers can ask a BCCSA Regional Safety Advisor (RSA) to answer any safety question. In this month’s column, a reader asks our RSA for advice on how to complete a job-specific or scope-specific safe work plan — a document that outlines how work will be carried out safely for a task, project, or scope of work. Got a question? Email an RSA at: rsa@bccsa.ca
Until November!
As always, we welcome your feedback!
