Dear Friends,
Since arriving in Beatrice in 2012, I've had the opportunity to help plan and attend five years of "Catch the Glow," our annual gala and auction.  I wonder if Dennis Byars, who created the event when he served as Executive Director, ever thought in his wildest dreams that we would still be "glowing" fifteen years later?  Well, we certainly are....and 2016 was one of the best evenings ever!

While "Catch the Glow" is one of our most visible yearly events (and you can read more about it below), it is not all we do.  The core mission of the BCH Foundation is to "intensify the impact" the hospital has on local healthcare.......and we do that in so many different ways!

I hope you will enjoy reading more about our Foundation activities in this  edition of "The Contributor."  It's because of people like you the BCH Foundation continues to thrive.

Thank you for being a "contributor" and an important partner in our efforts to support the healthcare needs in our community.

Sam Rennick
Intensifying the Impact
"Catch the Glow"
Having just celebrated fifteen years, "Catch the Glow" continues to be one of the most well attended activities in Beatrice each December.  "We always get great support from the community," noted Rich Hovendick, Foundation Board President, "but what makes the last few years even more special is the incredible involvement of hospital employees!"  Staff at the hospital and local clinics donated auction items, created gift baskets, volunteered on the planning committee and attended the event.  "Catch the Glow," held on December 2, raised more than $72,000 to support hospital programs.  Visit this webpage!
Centurian Cup Challenge Golf Tournament

Centurian Appreciation Dinner
The Centurian Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center.  This annual gathering recognizes and thanks supporters of the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation.

You Need a Will
For most people, writing a will is a low priority.  It requires us to think about two of the most uncomfortable subjects known to human kind, finances and our own mortality.  However, most of us who have a will recognize that it is not planning for death, but rather for those we leave behind.  It is a wonderful feeling to know that the people and charities you cared for in life will be secure at your passing.
