Dear Hospitality Community,
Many of you are currently open, supporting the ongoing needs of your communities as an essential service, or you are in the process of planning your reopening, The hard work and expertise of our industry has resulted in the Best Practice and Protocol Doc currently held as the “live working document” on our website.
www.bcha.com
. The importance for you as an employer to develop your safety plan, in partnership with your team, to implement, train and identify the changes in operations prior to reopening cannot be overstated. Ensuring the health and safety and well-being of your guests and your team as operations resume is imperative. While we seek to build industry confidence among consumers, within our communities, and across the government, effective execution of these measures is of critical importance.
As each business is so intimately tied to its community, we recommend that you engage with your community members, your DMO and your Mayor and Council to determine what your capacity is to welcome travelers back and build confidence in doing so. This will help ensure that each stakeholder is aligned and prepared to warmly welcome guests together. We will continue to work on your behalf as well. This could well make a significant different to the ability to recovery expeditiously once the time is right.
Last week, we presented our second webinar outlining our industry best practices and protocols in partnership with go2HR. The living
Best Practices and Protocols document
, is available on our website at

and has been curated to help inform your new safety policies and procedures. Please note that as we continue to receive new information, we are prepared to re-evaluate and make necessary changes to this document. You will find the webinar, recording and slide deck below. Thank you to those of you who joined us.
Stay safe,
