Our goal is to highlight the benefits of volunteering and encourage more people to volunteer. If you have time, below is a survey to help capture your responses. Those who complete the survey by Wednesday, April 13 will be entered into a drawing and will be entered into a drawing for one of three $50 gift cards to a Blue Zones Project approved restaurant. Winners will be announced in our April Volunteer Newsletter!

Earth Day at Wilderness Park
Earth Day takes place each April and is widely recognized as the largest secular observance in the world, marked by more than a billion people every year as a day of action to change human behavior and create global, national and local environmental policy changes. Volunteers are called to come together for acts of service in April to celebrate this year’s theme of “Invest in Our Planet.”
Join BCHD staff and volunteers for a day of service at Wilderness Park with South Bay Parkland Conservancy (SBPC), a local organization that has been committed to preserving open space and creating more parks in the coastal cities of the South Bay. SBPC’s goal is to plant 100-200 plants per work day throughout this last year, preparing the restoration areas for the 45th anniversary of Wilderness Park (celebrated this year on Earth Day), and the official ribbon cutting of the Wilderness Park habitat restoration project.
Date: Sunday, April 24
Shift Times:
Booth Support
9:30am - 12:30pm
12:30 - 3:30pm
Restoration work in the park
10am - 2pm
