The 27th year of Holiday Toy Trains at Behringer-Crawford has begun. Our third-floor veranda is now a holiday wonderland complete with trains, cities, mountains, with a Dickens Village and Wahoo's Winter Wonderland just around the corner.

Chippie's Sensational Science Lab:
Toy-Making Science
Tuesday, November 13, 2018, 1-2 p.m.
How do you become one of Santa's toy-making elves? By learning science, of course! Help Santa's elves by making your own Silly Putty, bouncy balls and more. Then listen to a story about Santa's workshop. Chippie, BCM’s chipmunk mascot, introduces science to children aged 3 to 5 in this fun and educational monthly series, which incorporates S.T.E.A.M. elements and age-appropriate experiments! Cost: museum admission plus $3 lab fee per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration required: call (859) 491-4003.

Brown Bag Luncheon:
Digging Up Your Roots – Basic Genealogy
Thursday, November 15, 2018, noon-1:30 PM
Michael D. Stull, president of the Northern Kentucky Genealogical Society, will share strategies for researching your family’s history, from where to look for information and how to record and keep it to computer programs to assist in your investigation. The lunch and presentation will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the BCM Education Center. Bring your own brown bag lunch. Drinks and desserts will be provided. Cost: $3 for BCM members; $10 for future BCM members. Reservations recommended: (859) 491-4003.
Ornament-Making Workshop:
Old Fashioned Tin-Punching
Saturday, November 17, 2-3 p.m.
Because glass was so expensive, early Americans used tin to make lanterns, piercing the metal in intricate patterns to let the light shine through. Learn how to create holiday ornaments using this pioneer technique. Craft fee is $5 for BCM members and $7 plus museum admission for future members. Reservations are required by November 14. Tot Tuesdays!: Harvest Fun
Tuesday, November 20, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Get ready to decorate your Thanksgiving table with turkeys, pumpkins and other fall creations crafted by you and your toddler. Tot Tuesdays!, designed to help prepare preschoolers for reading readiness and socialization, are held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. Admission is free for BCM members. For future members, cost is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors 60+ and $5 for children. There is a $1 craft fee per child. Free parking. Reserve spots for you and your child at (859) 491-4003.
