For those who have already participated in a Bridges Out of Poverty training, BCOC will be presenting "Tools for Improved Client Engagement" on Friday April 23 from 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:30 a.m.
This training will further the dialogue regarding the strategies and concepts learned in the Bridges Out of Poverty training. To register, please email Samantha Titus at stitus@bcoc.org. This training will be held via zoom. The zoom link will be sent to you closer to the training date.

On March 26, the Board members of three Bucks County non-profits, the Bucks County Opportunity Council, YWCA and United Way of Bucks County, participated in a joint Racial Wealth Gap Simulation. Twenty one Board members signed up to attend. The simulation is an interactive tool that helps people understand the connections among racial equity, hunger, poverty, and wealth. |

Shop with Noonday Collection to benefit BCOC! |
Gather for Good! Shop Noonday Collection to benefit BCOC between now and April 7, and 10% of all purchases will be donated to BCOC; Another 10% will be matched to buy spice kits for us!
This partnership between BCOC and Noonday Collection will help people in our communities build bridges out of poverty. By partnering together, we are creating opportunity locally and internationally.
To make a difference in some of the world's most vulnerable communities, Noonday partners with Artisan Businesses that share their passion for building a flourishing world. They develop these businesses through fair trade, empowering them to grow sustainably and to create dignified jobs for people who need them.

Pack boxes with food items for the emergency home delivery food program at the H.E.L.P. Center, or sign up to deliver these boxes to home-bound Bucks County residents and seniors. Sign up HERE.

The lack of safe and reliable transportation limits access to jobs and educational opportunities. The Bucks County Opportunity Council, in partnership with Bucks County Community College and the Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund, is currently seeking both good, used automobiles and financial support to help those in need of reliable and safe transportation.

Bucks County Emergency Rental Assistance |
|
The Bucks County Department of Housing and Community Development recently announced the launch of a new resource for renters who have fallen behind on rent or utilities because of COVID-19. Funded with more than $37 million from the U.S. Department of Treasury, the Bucks County Emergency Rental Assistance (BERA) program is helping eligible tenants who reside within the county to pay rent and utility bills.

The Bucks County Opportunity Council is the designated Community Action Agency (CAA) for Bucks County. We are one of 42 Community Action agencies in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and one of 1,000 across the nation! Each CAA is responsive to the needs of their own local community, and is tasked with providing targeted solutions to the issues around poverty in that community.
BCOC provides a wide range of services to enable residents to achieve Economic Self-Sufficiency, through case management, Rapid Re-housing, emergency crisis stabilization services, Street Outreach, free tax preparation, food resources, Fresh Connect, weatherization and more to Bucks County residents in need.
