BCOM’s mission is all about serving the community, and the students, faculty, and staff stepped it up this year with donations of time, clothing, and gifts. From the ten medical students who helped serve food during a volunteer shortage at El Caldito Soup Kitchen to the more than $2,000 dollars worth of toys and gifts collected for Las Cruces children, the spirit of the season is alive and well on campus. Meet our featured faculty member of the month. When she's not teaching and serving as the chair of BCOM's Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Dr. Donohue is helping triathletes of all levels reach their goals.

The Commercial Real Estate Development Association recognized BCOM with the 2017 NAIOP Excellence Award in the category of Education: New Construction.

Etters, a member of BCOM's inaugural class, is getting ahead of the game, exploring her chosen specialty with a summer clerkship and a trip to the American Society of Anesthesiologists annual meeting in Boston.

Breaking Barriers: SOSA Health Fair Raises Community Awareness
Members of the regional community gained a new appreciation for BCOM's mission and osteopathic manipulative medicine at the Student Osteopathic Surgical Association's first annual health fair.

BCOM sponsored a hole at the 25th annual Las Cruces Hispano Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. Congratulations to Ryan Gonzales, David Osborne, Max Jiganti, and Mike Woods for finishing 2nd out of 25 teams!

Honor Flight of Southern New Mexico Hosts
Annual Reunion at BCOM
A group of WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans held a reunion on the BCOM campus. Medical student and US Air Force Second Lieutenant Alex Lam led the pledge of allegiance and Dean Mychaskiw spoke about osteopathic physicians and their significant contributions to the armed forces.
