BCOM Hosts First Annual Medical Student Research Day

BCOM's first annual Medical Student Research Day was organized to celebrate student research accomplishments and to provide an opportunity for students to present their research projects. Eighteen BCOM students presented their posters detailing their work in the categories of Biomedical, Clinical/Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, Population/Public Health, and Medical Education Research.

Katherine Kleinberg Recognized for Medical Education Research
Kleinberg's research on collaborative testing captured the attention of international researchers and she received one of the highest student honors offered by the American Association of Anatomists.

Sharing the Magic of Medicine and Science
BCOM's Health Science Library hosted six-weeks of Harry Potter-themed programming to promote reading and STEM-H throughout Dona Ana County, which has low literacy rates and educational levels.
 
Medical Student Grows Beard for Charity
BCOM student Kareem Shahin was recently featured in The DO for his unique attempt to raise money for Syrian support charities.
