TEAM BCPS SHOUTOUT
Lancy Cash, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Resource Teacher, Sandalwood Elementary School
Submitted by Kellie Price, Staff Development Teacher, Sandalwood Elementary School
"Lancy Cash has been in the education world for about 29 years; two years in a different state, and six years in Baltimore City before making the switch to Baltimore County. He has been working at Sandalwood for 21 years and is currently the MTSS resource teacher.
The school runs smoothly because of his presence and work ethic. Teachers, staff, students, and families respect Mr. Cash and anything he has to share with them. He focuses a lot on attendance, behavior, and positive classroom environments. He makes daily phone calls for a multitude of reasons and prefers to sit in the classrooms with students who need support, as opposed to pulling them out, so they do not miss instruction.
If a staff member needs anything from support, a person to talk to, or suggestions on behavior strategies, Mr. Cash is there for them. He also had a playful side to him as well, and will joke with the staff, students, and always joins in on the fun. In addition to all of that, he runs an after school program, and if you ever want to see him in a different environment besides an elementary school, he puts in his time and effort to coach at Dulaney High School! Mr. Cash is a positive presence both in and out of the school building and we are truly grateful to have him at Sandalwood Elementary."
