Buford Elementary School

SRO David Genaro

David joins us with a little over twelve years of law enforcement experience, nine years with the Gwinnett County Police Dept, and three years as a School Resource Officer with Gwinnett County Public Schools assigned to GIVE WEST. 

Buford Academy

SRO Timothy Sims

Timothy (goes by TJ) joins us with eight years of law enforcement experience, five years with the Gwinnett County Police Department, and three years with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office. He has a specialty in gang investigations. 

Buford Senior Academy

SRO Joel Carrasco

Joel joins us with fifteen years of law enforcement experience, twelve years with the Gwinnett County Police Department, and the last 3.5 years as a Schools Resource Officer with Gwinnett County Public Schools assigned to Peachtree Ridge High School. Joel also served in the Army for seven years.

The email that families receive from the school nutrition software with their student's cafeteria account information comes from "[email protected]". Check your SPAM or Junk folders periodically to make sure you are not missing important information.

Blood Drive Updates

• 64 units of blood were collected
• 193 lives saved (each unit saves 3 lives)
• $250 earned in scholarship money for a BHS student
• 13 BHS students helped run the blood drive
• K-8 gift card student winner was the Skelton family. 
• 9-12 gift card winner was the Ghazal family.
• Staff gift card winner was Kristie Whelchel at BHS

One Buford family (Travis family) was selected out of 400,000 donors across the country to win a Travel Trailer Camper summer of 2022!
