Dear Students and Families,

I hope your summer has been most enjoyable! We are getting excited to welcome students back from summer break. In addition to welcoming the class of 2027, we will have some new staff faces to welcome too!

Please take some time to read through this newsletter as it contains a lot of useful information to help you plan for the upcoming school year.

       Tuesday, August 15 at 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Where: Beaver Dam High School

What You Need to Know:

• Online Registration - Starts in early August. We recommend doing this online prior to coming in for the second part of registration which is pictures.
• Pictures - these will be taken during the registration times. Watch your email to order in advance.
• Student IDs - An ID will be given to students as soon as they take their pictures during registration (see the flyer below). This will be needed throughout the school year and is a must have.
• Chromebooks - will be given to students on the first day of school.
• Fees - Paid In Person with Check or Cash (Credit Card can be done Online)

Monday August 14th, 2023

6:30 p.m.

Families of incoming Freshmen and New Students to Beaver Dam High School are invited to our Family Night on Monday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. During this event families will learn the orientation process and be ready for the start of our 2023-24 school year! We look forward to seeing all your new faces!

Monday, August 21, 2023

8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Parents of freshmen have received a letter which explains the Freshman Orientation Program in detail. All incoming 2023 BDHS freshmen are invited! If you have an incoming freshmen and did not receive a letter in the mail please consider this your invitation. We would ask that your student(s) arrive no earlier than 7:30 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023. Breakfast will be available from 7:30-7:55am. We will begin allowing students to enter the building at 7:30am (obviously earlier in the case of inclement weather) and only through the main entrance doors.

The week of August 14th Student Schedules will be live in Skyward.

Schedule Issues should be resolved prior to the start of the school year. Please contact your counselors if that is the case.

Acceptable Reasons for a Schedule Change Request:

1. Related to a student with an IEP, 504, or other Special Programming.
2. A level change request. Example: Moving from a regular type class to Honors or AP.
3. There is a blank period in your schedule.
4. Youth Apprenticeship or Work-based Learning Needs
5. You took a class during summer school that appears on your schedule.
6. You didn't yet sign-up for Release.
