BEDC Announces Covid-19 Emergency Relief Grant
The BEDC is providing short-term emergency grant relief to bars, nightclubs, members clubs, and restaurants economically impacted negatively by the most recent Public Health Closure notice issued by the Ministry of Health.

BEDC has set aside a total of $1M out of the $12M in Covid-19 funding support provided by the Government for this emergency relief. As is the case with all BEDC financial products, applications will be reviewed, and funds provided based on need.

Payroll Tax - The Basics
Megan Nesbit of Abacus joined BEDC to host a webinar on the basic information that you need to know about payroll tax in Bermuda. The webinar topic proved to be quite popular with 132 in attendance. Megan walked us through the process of filing payroll tax and was able to give the audience a few tips and tricks to make the process a less stressful endeavour.

A Follow Up, One Year Later
On January 21st, BEDC was joined by The Premier of Bermuda, the Hon. E. David Burt, JP, MP and a panel of Innovative Bermudian Entrepreneurs: Nhuri Bashir, Tulani Bulford, Marico Thomas & Karen E. Franks for what turned out to be an inspiring discussion. The panel discussed growing Bermuda’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, by entrepreneurs, with entrepreneurs - what this looks like, the challenges and what next steps should be.

BEDC Teams Up With Ministry of Public Works on $13M Construction Stimulus Program
The MPW has partnered with the BEDC to support – independently from MPW – prospective construction industry contractors, tradespersons, maintenance, and any other industry service provision companies with fully understanding what MPW tender pre-qualification documents are required to submit to be fully compliant with MPW’s Request for Statement of Qualifications (RFSQ).

BEDC is hosting Information Sessions for those that are interested.
